Mālama Media Group – Official Contest Rules

(Applies to all stations: KKOL-FM Decades 107.9, KHCM-FM Country 97.5, KHNR-AM 690 / FM 94.3 The Answer, KGU-AM 760 / FM 95.1 The Word, KGU-FM 99.5 The Word)

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

All contests are subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and are void where prohibited.

2. SPONSOR

All contests are sponsored by Mālama Media Group, Honolulu, Hawaii (“Sponsor”), including the following stations:

• KKOL-FM Decades 107.9 
• KHCM-FM Country 97.5 
• KHNR-AM 690 / FM 94.3 The Answer 
• KGU-AM 760 / FM 95.1 The Word 
• KGU-FM 99.5 The Word 

3. ELIGIBILITY

Unless otherwise specified:

• Open to legal residents of the State of Hawaii 
• Must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry 
• Must possess valid government-issued identification 

Ineligible participants include:

• Employees of Mālama Media Group, its affiliates, advertising agencies, and immediate family/household members 

4. CONTEST PERIOD

Each contest will have a defined start and end date/time (“Contest Period”), which will be announced on-air, online, or via social media.

Sponsor’s clock is the official timekeeper.

5. HOW TO ENTER

Entry methods may include (but are not limited to):

• On-air call-in contests 
• Website entry forms 
• Mobile apps 
• Social media (likes, shares, follows, comments, hashtags) 
• Text message or keyword entry 

All entries must follow the instructions provided for that specific contest.

Incomplete, late, or fraudulent entries may be disqualified.

6. ENTRY LIMITATIONS

• Limit one (1) entry per person per contest unless otherwise stated 
• Limit one (1) winner per household every 30 days across all Mālama Media Group stations 
• Multiple accounts, automated entries, or fraudulent methods are prohibited 

7. WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION

• Winners will be selected at random or based on contest criteria 
• Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries 
• Potential winners will be contacted via phone, email, DM, or other method used to enter 

If a winner:

• Cannot be contacted 
• Fails to respond within required timeframe 
• Is deemed ineligible 

…an alternate winner may be selected.

8. PRIZES

• Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value unless otherwise stated 
• Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value 
• Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt 

9. WINNER REQUIREMENTS

Winners may be required to:

• Sign an affidavit of eligibility 
• Provide valid identification 
• Complete IRS Form W-9 (if applicable) 

Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

10. PUBLICITY RELEASE

By entering, participants grant Sponsor the right to use:

• Name 
• Likeness 
• Voice 
• Entry content 

…for promotional, advertising, and marketing purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

11. CONDUCT & DISQUALIFICATION

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:

• Provides false information 
• Violates contest rules 
• Engages in fraud, tampering, or abuse 

Entries become property of Sponsor and will not be returned. 

12. TECHNICAL ISSUES

Sponsor is not responsible for:

• Lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries 
• Technical failures (internet, phone, app, etc.) 
• Delays in broadcast or streaming transmission 

13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless:
Mālama Media Group and its stations, employees, affiliates, and partners from any claims, damages, or liability arising from participation or prize use.

14. SOCIAL MEDIA DISCLAIMER

For contests conducted via social media platforms (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok):

• This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, those platforms 
• Participants release all platforms from any responsibility 

15. PRIVACY

Information collected will be used in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy and applicable laws.

16. GENERAL CONDITIONS

Sponsor reserves the right to:

• Cancel, suspend, or modify any contest if necessary 
• Interpret rules and resolve disputes at its sole discretion 

All decisions by Sponsor are final.
